Nvidia and AMD are preparing AI chips specifically for China!

Ana sayfa / News

Nvidia and AMD are developing AI GPUs specifically for the Chinese market in compliance with US sanctions. According to supply chain sources, both companies will officially launch these new chips in July.

Nvidia is working on a new AI GPU codenamed “B20.” This chip is based on the existing Blackwell architecture, but it was designed as a trimmed-down version in terms of performance to avoid US export rules.

It is stated that the B20 will have a more limited capacity compared to Nvidia’s more powerful models, but will still be able to handle certain AI workloads. On the AMD side, a new workstation GPU called the “Radeon AI PRO R9700” is on the agenda.

It is stated that the company is preparing a special version of this model for China. This version developed by AMD will also be restricted to comply with current export restrictions, just like Nvidia’s B20 model.

On Nvidia’s side, the pricing of the B20 chip, designed specifically for the Chinese market, has not yet been finalized. However, the financial impact of the sanctions on Nvidia has been severe. The company lost $4.5 billion in the first quarter of 2025 due to problems with the sales of the H20 model to China alone.

It is also stated that there is a total of $2.5 billion worth of H20 stock that could not be shipped to China during this period. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
